Luke Gough - AMA Pro Flat Track Racer, National Number 62 Our relationship has gone on from there and beside the copy for his website, email blasts and articles, I have also done articles for him published on US websites and Australian ones as well as Aussie publications. He has also asked me to do his race resume and even had me do the design on his last two sets of leathers (from Hap's Racing Leathers of course!). Click here if you would like to review Luke's website and all of the information and images on it. Luke has been nice enough to share a few words of support here. "Drum and 218 Designs have helped me almost since I first arrived in the US. He has helped in so many aspects I don't know where to start. First would be my website. This has helped me attract sponsors and bring my racing program to the next level. Second would be the writing he does for me. From race reports to my racing resume, his writing has always been on target. From there he has helped me secure sponsors and even design my leathers. I can't say enough about his efforts. He puts his heart into his work and it shows." Luke's folks, Col and Nerida, were kind enough to say some really wonderful things for me as well. (Thanks guys!) "Hey guys if you want the best website on the planet, call 218 Designs. From the graphics that jump out an bite you on the ass, to all the relevant facts and details that are written in great format. Hey, don't take our word for it, go and check out Luke's website at www.lukegough.com and you can see for yourselves what a fantastic job Drum and 218 Designs did. We had the pleasure of meeting and staying with Drum for a few days in Feb. 2009. Not only dose this guy have the talent of a great writer and be able to put together an awesome website, he also has a wonderful personalty and great sense of humor. His energy and the ideas that he has are remarkable. We couldn't recommend a more talented guy!" Thanks mate! Col and Nerida Gough. When I started to work on Luke's leathers, he wanted something done that represented his native Australia. The gas tank on his race bike had recently been painted with an image of the flat on it. I didn't want to redo that exactly, but decided that the constellation Southern Cross would look great on his chest. Luke wanted to use the new 'chrome' color. I put those on the sleeves and upper part of his legs for maximum effect. Trying to keep the Aussie theme, I wanted it to look like Luke had on a pair of board shorts and could be down at the beach, so I made the lower leg blue. I also used dark blue for the chest to provide a correct backdrop for the stars to imitate the Aussie flag. The double red stripe down the sleeves and legs gives added flash and highlights the sponsors whose names appear there. Click on any of the images to see a full size shot of that image. |
