Examples Of Our Work

Below you can review some of the projects we have completed here at 218Designs. They range from design through foreign manufacturing to website and PR work.

MXHandStand
The MXHandStand is the product that changed our little company. This is the project that started in about 2001 as a way to make a better motorcycle stand. (Click here to read the entire story.)

We began by building a prototype; applying for a patent; drawing it in a 3-D AutoCAD format; then worked with an overseas manufacturer; arranged for international shipping; created a product name; secured a domain and built a website; created a business plan; worked with vendors for pricing and lots more. I really don't want to take up a page and a half describing all of the details. Suffice to say that we have run with this project from begining to end. We will finish off by creating marketing materials, magazine advertisments and much more.

All of this will teach us how to better do product number two, which is right behind this one! Click on the image below to see the website. As you review it remember that we created the logo, designed and supervised the professional photography shots in addition to all of the product work!

Hap's Leathers
Hap's Racing Leathers is a growing motorcycle leathers company that I have had the pleasure to work with. In addition to totally redoing their logo (twice!) and tagline, I have also built their website and have even done some design work for leathers customers for Kenny Hapke, the owner. (Click here to see my recent design for Luke Gough.)

To the right of the web image is an online footer ad we did for Hap's as well. This appeared on www.flattrack.com.

Luke Gough - AMA Pro Flat Track Racer, National Number 62
I had the pleasure of meeting Luke through a friend in 2007. I got to know him a bit and have gone on to assist him with sponsorship, racing resumes, acquiring other sponsors, his website, even designing his leathers. I have also had the privilege of meeting his parents and communicating with them on a regular basis. Luke is a fantastic young man and one heck of a fast racer! He loves what he does and dedicates himself to it with unlimited energy. He was voted "Most Determined Rider" in 2010 by his racing peers.

We also do all the PR for Luke and have written articles that have appeared both in the States as well as in Australia.

Kace Allen Designs
Kace Allen is a friend of mine that I ride dirt bikes with. (Remember, I said most of our relationships were through two-wheeled activities!) He has a thriving residential/commercial design business and came to me a couple of years ago and asked for some assistance with his logo. We designed a logo that he really liked (did you notice that it is KTM orange?) and then he asked us to do his website. We were thrilled to do this as well!

In addition to the logo and design work, we have written almost all of the copy for the website as well as assisted with a PowerPoint show that was created for a group presentation. (This presentation was exceptionally well received by the audience and members!)

Pioneer Travel
No, this is not a site where you can plan a wagon train type vacation. This is a travel website out of Pioneer, California. Up Hwy. 88 from Jackson, about an hour out of Sacremento. I took an opportunity to help a friend and basically did a small website for her very cheaply to help her grow her little business - and it worked! Anyway, Pat is a wonderful woman and can help you with your travel plans whatever it is you want, just give her a shout. She had a logo, so we didn't mess with that, just created a simple website for her.

Permit List
Through a two-wheeled relationship again, this couple wanted to do a website based business based on building permits issued in the three major counties in the central Willamette Valley of Oregon. Designed as a tool for building material providers and others that would find this data useful, it never did quite reach its full potential. 218 Designs was responsible for the logo and website construction. We even took the image on the header on a trip to the coast.
